More than 3500 are said to have been killed in the on going anti-government protests in Syria. Last week, the Arab League said the government had agreed to a peace deal. Since then 6o people have been killed, Syrian troops parade the city with tanks and heavy weapons.
The Syrian government claimed it had released political prisoners over the weekend,however Ms Shamdasani the spokeswoman for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR),said that despite the release thousands of civilians are still in detention and hundreds more are arrested every day.
