Goran Stevanovic, the coach of the Black Stars today announced his 25 man squad for the 2012 African Cup of Nations. Three goalkeepers:Adam, Nii Adjei and Sowah. Richard Kingston and Sammy Adjei had no place in the goal keeping lineup.Captain John Mensah leeds the defence whilst the young inspirational Dede leeds the midfeild made up of Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah and the new Charles Takyi. Asamoah Gyan will be assisted by Jordan Ayew,Prince Tagoe, the Glo premier league top scorer Emmanuel Baffour and Derek Asamoah.
However, some football fans in the country have strongly spoken against the exclusion of goalkeeper Sammy Adjei who they believe is much more experienced than the two reserved keepers.Others also detest the inclusion of Prince Tagoe, complaining that the opportunity should have been given to Dominic who is much younger.
The team leaves for South Africa on the 7 of January and begin their preparation until 19 when the final 23 man squad goes to the competition.
